Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held Thursday, February 8th from 3:30-6:30 PM.  Lincoln Southwest (LSW) staff will be at Scott Middle School during the scheduled conference time on Thursday, February 8th to help assist 8th graders who will be attending LSW with 9th grade registration. The LSW Special Education Coordinator, Christy Champoux, will be available to assist with registration for students in special education in Room 431 at Scott.  She will be able to answer questions specific to LSW classes and programs available for students with IEPs and special education needs.  We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to work with LSW staff who will be assisting your students in the future.

 

Student News

Student Council will be selling Scott Middle School water bottles. These are clear, school-approved water bottles. They are dishwasher safe and are only ten dollars. Students may purchase bottles today after school in the library or find Student Council members in the hallway during parent-teacher conferences.

Don’t forget that Student Council’s Fun Friday theme this week is Sweats Day! Stay comfy, warm and casual with your favorite sweats.

The LPS Oral Spelling Bee will be held on Saturday, February 10th at Culler Middle School. The Spelling Bee is open to students in grades 5-8. More information is available in the main office or please see your English teacher.

Ten students at Scott Middle School competed in the final round of the Scott National Geographic BEE.  The school winners are Tyler Reida, Daniel Syniy, and Isaak Hogeland.  The 30th annual BEE was open to all students grades 4-8.  School champion Tyler Reida will take a written exam to determine the state competitors.  The state competition will be held April 6th in Omaha, NE.  The state BEE winner will compete May 20-23 at the National Geographic Society Headquarters in Washington, DC for a chance to earn a $50,000 college scholarship.
