7th and 8th grade:

Core teachers (English, math, social studies, and science), along with resource teachers, reading teachers, and counselors will be in the Multipurpose Room.  Teachers will be in alphabetical order.  There will be maps posted on the Multipurpose Room doors to help locate teachers.  Teachers will also have name cards on their tables. Academic connection teachers (PE/Health, music, art, computer, world language, LaCA, and TLC) will be in the 7th and 8th grade pod areas.  Signs will be located in the hallway outside each pod area with teacher names to help direct you to the right area.

Additional Details

·   Please remember to bring your child’s schedule so you know what teachers you need to visit.

·   There are no appointments.

·   Please limit your time with any one teacher to no more than 5 minutes.

·   Please use the front door (Door #1), the East Door (Door #22) or the North Door of the Multipurpose Room (Door #20) to enter the building.

·   Please be reminded that it is early in the semester and in some classes there has yet to be a summative (80% of the overall class grade) assessment.  This at times can lead to a misrepresentation of the student’s overall class grade and success.

Mid-Quarter Grades

Mid-quarter grades will be sent via email on, Wednesday, February 6.

Information for 8th Grade Students

In February and early March, high school counselors will come to the LPS middle schools to meet with students who are planning to enroll at their high school. At that time, high school counselors will discuss graduation requirements, answer questions about the high school curriculum, and register 8th grade students for 9th grade courses.  Students will be participating in pre-registration activities with their 8th grade counselors before the high school counselor visits.  Dates for the high school counselor visits will be communicated by high schools and middle schools.  Please watch for that information.

Among the most important decisions being made by students and their parents/guardians are those related to the high school they will attend and the courses they will choose to meet graduation requirements and support their educational and career plans.

We look forward to your attendance at the informational meetings so counselors, department chairpersons, and administrators will be able to greet you and assist you and your student as they begin the transition from middle school to high school.
