Home of the Shining Stars

The Scott Middle School Counseling Program provides a comprehensive, developmental program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development. Our counselors are professional school advocates who provide support to maximize student potential and academic achievement. In partnership with other Scott Middle School educators, parents, and the Scott community, our school counselors work to ensure that all students are prepared with the knowledge and skills to contribute at the highest level as productive members of society.

At Scott, our school counselors design and deliver a school counseling program that improves student outcomes. They lead, advocate and collaborate to promote equity and access for all students by connecting their school counseling program to the school’s academic mission and school improvement plan. Our counselors at Scott uphold the ethical and professional standards of ASCA and promote the development of the school counseling program based on the following areas of the ASCA National Model: define, deliver, manage and assess.

Serving the Population

Scott is the largest middle school within Lincoln Public Schools serving over 1,000 students. Each school counselor has a caseload between 320-360 students. At Scott, school counselors connect with students through a variety of methods but most common are classroom presentations, small instructional groups, and individual appointments.

Looping

We loop with our students. This means that school counselors remain with the same caseload all three years while at middle school. Looping provides the opportunity for relationships to be made with individual students and families.

Connecting

To connect with your child’s grade level school counselor, you can email or call the school. If your child would like to schedule an appointment to meet with their school counselor they can access their grade level counselor’s Google Classroom and complete the form.
